Mobile Paediatric Occupational Therapy
Across Ormeau, Yarrabilba and Logan

Youth OT provides mobile occupational therapy for children, adolescents and young adults aged 1.5 to 25 across Ormeau, Yarrabilba and selected Logan communities.

Appointments may take place at home, school, early-learning settings, in the community or by telehealth where appropriate.

Mobile OT Across a Broad Service Region

Ormeau, Yarrabilba and Logan cover a broad service area, with considerable travel between communities. Youth OT plans appointments around therapist travel routes so that mobile services can be delivered efficiently and consistently.

Rather than operating from a fixed clinic, our occupational therapists may visit clients at home, school, early-learning settings or appropriate community locations. Telehealth may also be considered where suitable.

Not every suburb can be serviced at all times. Availability depends on whether the client’s location can be matched with an occupational therapist already working within or near that area.

Communities We Service

Yarrabilba

Youth OT may provide mobile occupational therapy across Yarrabilba, subject to therapist availability and suitable travel arrangements. Appointments may focus on everyday routines, school participation, community access and increasing independence.

Selected Logan communities

Some Logan locations may be serviced depending on the client’s suburb, appointment requirements and whether the location fits within an existing therapist’s schedule and travel area.

Tamborine Mountain and nearby areas

Appointments may also be considered in Tamborine Mountain and nearby communities where suitable travel and scheduling arrangements can be established.

How Therapist Availability Is Determined

When a family contacts Youth OT, our team considers more than the client’s suburb alone. We also look at the proposed appointment setting, preferred days and times, expected appointment frequency, therapist experience and existing travel routes.

School and early-learning visits often need to occur within specific hours, while home appointments may offer greater scheduling flexibility. These practical factors can affect whether a suitable therapist match is available.

For outer areas, we may need to determine whether the appointment can be grouped with other services in the region. This helps maintain reliable appointment times and avoid unsustainable travel arrangements.

Where Mobile OT Appointments May Take Place

At home

Home appointments may support self-care, daily routines, mealtime participation, organisation, sensory needs, household activities and greater independence.

At school or early learning

Occupational therapy may address classroom participation, play, regulation, motor skills, routines and access to learning activities.

In the community

Community appointments may support practical skills, community access, social participation, confidence and preparation for greater independence.

By telehealth

Telehealth may be considered where it is clinically and practically appropriate for the client’s goals, needs and circumstances.

Information to Include With Your Enquiry

To help our team assess availability, please include the client’s suburb, age, preferred appointment setting, funding type, general areas of support and any preferred days or times.

Providing this information early allows us to assess whether the referral can be matched with an appropriate therapist and travel route.

Youth OT is an NDIS registered provider. We may support clients with NDIA-managed, plan-managed or self-managed funding, subject to the supports included in the client’s plan, available funding and service agreement.

Services may include occupational therapy assessment, ongoing intervention, functional capacity assessments, progress or review reports, assistive technology assessment and collaboration with families, schools and other relevant supports.
